JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the world leaders who specialise in safety of lives and assets in the marine industry.

They are looking for experienced environmental specialists to advise and promote safety products to clients; deliver seminars, conferences and papers on environmental issues affecting the marine industry today.

Job responsibilities:
  • Project manage or form part of project team for development of core and non core scalable products according to established procedures with emphasis on quality, timing and cost.
  • Undertake product development project work as defined by a project manager. Where appropriate, work with clients in joint development projects or advisory activities.
  • Provide client and surveyor training to support the roll out of environmental products
  • Maintain a high degree of domain knowledge, including understanding of IMO initiatives, and commercial schemes, through involvement in industry forums and workshops, and delivery of consultancy projects that align closely with the environmental strategy
  • Develop leading edge products / services / solutions that meet stakeholder’s current and emerging needs.
  • Ensure the execution of projects within the programme framework is effective.
  • Foster relationships across internal and external key stakeholders to maintain specialist subject matter expert knowledge of current and emerging environmental issues, risks & associated protective measures
  • Understand regulatory environment & Support External Affairs
  • Deliver technical papers, conferences, seminars etc at both internal and external events
Job Requirements:
  • A degree or equivalent within the relevant field of engineering or physical science or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution
  • Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work
  • Demonstrable understanding of the Project Management process, gained through experience and training
