JOB LOCATION

Lymington & Hamble

JOB TITLE

Chief Instructor

JOB REF

MR-INST-104225

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic and personable YMI, ideally with a marketing background, with excellent communication skills and who will see this opportunity as a long term career move.  You need to be an organised person wanting to grow and develop the business. Your role in the office setting up, organising shore based and water courses overseeing other instructors and promoting the business is as important as your time on the water.

You will be responsible for delivering RYA practical and shore based courses, workshops, bespoke training, corporate and social events, and will be directly involved with the marketing of both the school and our integrated SailTime business.  Courses are carried out on our 37 foot training yacht out of Lymington, but also across the Beneteau range of our 10 SailTime yachts and  1 power cruiser, varying from 32 -43 feet.

This is a full time, full commitment opportunity for someone that wants to be involved at the core of the business and will appreciate the autonomy and high level of control and responsibility they will be given.  Prove to us that you are able to run and develop the business and we will after approximately 18 months offer you a share holding Directorship in the company.

You will be expected to build personal professional relationships with our SailTime Members, many of whom want to progress their yachting skills from novices to Yachtmasters. Much of this training is on a one to one basis on their own SailTime Yacht and with whom you have time to work at their pace and as a result can be very rewarding. Needless to say you need to be an excellent instructor whose enthusiasm is infectious.

There is a strong overlap between marketing for our training business and for members for our SailTime Programme and therefore you will be involved in both. You will be expected to attend our trade shows and Boat Shows and undertake additional marketing activities as well as being responsible for all training on our boats.

All our fleet of yachts are new or less than 6 years old and are coded for commercial use, maintained to a very high standard, and very much reflect the quality and philosophy that we apply to our business.
You will be expected to travel freely in your own time and cost between our office in Lymington and our Solent boat locations, currently Hamble and Lymington.

Please apply below with your full CV and a cover letter setting out what you feel you can bring to this role.

SALARY

We are offering a competitive salary in the range of £22,000-25,000, plus bonus payments based on performance, 20 days paid annual leave plus statutory holidays and the opportunity for progression to Director level within the business.
