Maxwell Bruce's client is a multinational utility company delivering onshore and offshore wind projects worldwide.  As a result of continued growth they are currently seeking to recruit a Project Engineer to join their Offshore Marine Renewables Division in GLasgow.

The Project Engineer will focus on delivering large scale offshore wind projects and will be responsible for contracting and managing the operations of vessels, auxiliary fleet, equipment and facilities for the construction and installation of offshore wind turbines.

Duties include:

- Design installation strategy and requirements for offshore projects.
- Ensure all technical, programme and testing interfaces between turbine, foundation, electrical and grid connection contracts are clearly understood and fully defined.
- Produce technical specifications, in coordination with other disciplines (turbines, foundations, electrical, etc.) to determine strategic and project specific requirements to contract offshore installation vessels, installation works, auxiliary equipment (hammers, cranes, grippers, grouting, etc), auxiliary fleet (tugs, feeders, etc) and auxiliary facilities (ports, storage areas, etc).
- Analyse and determine contracting strategy (lease, chartering, long term contracts etc) for ships and auxiliary equipment together with the Commercial and Technical teams.
- Liaise with and coordinate a large number of suppliers and contractors, including those related to vessels and marine operations, but in addition those related with his activities like  turbine suppliers, port operators, foundation and cable installation contractors and electrical and grid connection contractors.
- Provide input / support, and construction and marine expertise to the Development, Technical, O&M and Commercial teams to ensure that the necessary level of construction input is provided at the appropriate stage in the process.
- Provide input and support to Commercial team in the development of a long-term supply chain for the delivery of the company pipeline of offshore projects.  

Applications are welcome from candidates with:

- Degree and / or equivalent professional qualification in relevant engineering discipline - Mechanical / Marine Engineering or Naval Architectural.
- Significant postgraduate experience with solid experience in project management of offshore construction projects.
- Experience in either offshore wind or oil & gas environment
- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation associated with offshore / marine construction projects.
- Knowledge and experience in contracting and managing operation of vessels and marine equipment
- Knowledge of shipping, marine and offshore legislation and procedures.
