Our client is looking to bring an exceptional Managing Director into their Fleet Services Division to oversee the implementation of corporate strategic direction in the area of Contracted Logistical Support (CLS) operations.

Our client designs, manufactures and supports a range of rigid inflatable and high speed workboats for commercial and military markets worldwide.

Reporting to the Group Managing Director, with a shared P&L responsibility, you will work closely with the Sales Director, Regional Field Operations Managers, Sales and Finance Divisions.
With direct responsibility for Contract Base, Customer Service, Service Desk, Field based operations (Service and install), Stock, Purchasing, Repairs Area, Tech Support and Customer support, this role will include:

  • Responsibility for overseeing the maximizing of efficiencies of scale for Field Operations.
  • Monitoring and reduction of Operating Costs and working within agreed budgets, to increase the profitability of the business.
  • Overseeing management of subcontractors (including spend) and other members of the organisation (including Manufacturers and Suppliers) to meet delivery targets of required equipment.
  • Overseeing Health & Safety of all staff including H.O. based staff and Engineers.
  • Providing strong, professional leadership and direction to the Field Operations ensuring that the team are well trained and that resources are applied effectively to meet the needs of the business.
  • Instituting processes and procedures that will show improvements in service delivery and productivity of staff within the designated regions.
  • Controlling the day to day management of field based engineers and provide a clear vision of the future direction and role of the team.
  • Co-ordinating overall implementation of Best practices throughout the structure.

Candidates must:

  • Have specific and detailed knowledge of managing a field based operation
  • Have previously worked within the Commercial marine and/or military market.
  • Have the ability to create a performance based organisation through the use of metrics, processes and systems.
  • Be commercially aware, with an excellent understanding of creating competitive advantage through a service organisation.
  • Be technically competent with a relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent and have the ability to make decisions based upon technical expertise and use of team knowledge.
  • Have a proven track record of Delivery within Field Operations, Inventory and Service environments..
  • A broad knowledge of products and be able to manage assigned team members within the frame of a contract with experience of working with suppliers and customers.
  • Have managed teams comfortably and be able to demonstrate how your challenging and exciting management style has enabled you to deliver improved performance through your team.
  • Be comfortable dealing with sub-contractors

SALARY 

£45,000 - £55,000 pa
