JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of ship engineering systems, solutions, and products that are efficient, economically sound, and environmentally sustainable.

They are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee their Engineering function.

Responsibilities include:

1. Project management of integrated projects, including all technical and commercial considerations.
2. Day to day control of the project engineering operatives, including office based project engineers and draughtsmen.
3. Review of technical reports, documentation packages and drawings.
4. Site surveying to establish feasibility of potential projects.
5. Evaluation and preparation of tenders and quotations, to establish their feasibility and ability to generate profit.
6. Control of workshop activities.
7. Purchase order review.
8. Production of technical reports and documentation and review of site and project engineers reports.
9. Negotiation with suppliers, to ensure favourable, commercial terms and confirm the suitability of their products.
10. Evaluating suppliers and subcontractors to maintain a quality supply chain.
11. Ensuring that all activities on-site are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety obligations.

Candidates must have:

• High voltage switching experience
• Considerable experience of power generating plant and switchgear
• Knowledge of power system electrical protection (breakers and relays)
• Experience of power management systems (speed governors, voltage regulators and synchronising)

SALARY 

£65,000-£70,000pa
Holiday – 25 Days plus bank holidays
Pension – Pension matching offered up to 7%
Medical – Private medical offered after 6 months
