JOB DESCRIPTION
 
The Clipper Ventures Fleet of yachts consists of 60 and 68 ft yachts and next year a new fleet of 70ft racing yachts will also be introduced.

This is a permanent and full time position. The successful applicant will be required to undertake general maintenance duties on all of our yachts whilst they are in the UK (inc. re-fit) and also during each of the 16 Clipper RTW Race stopovers in various parts of the world. The successful applicant must have a good general engineering background and must have a proven track record in the maintenance, repair and installation of:

  • Sailing Yacht navigation electronics/instruments (i.e. Raymarine)
  • Satellite Communications equipment (Inmarsat Fleet 55/FBB & Iridium)
  • IT systems onboard yachts including the repair of PC navigation computers and installation of software
  • Basic 12 & 24VDC electrical systems, batteries, chargers and generators  

Anyone applying for this position must be able to work on their own initiative as well as within a close knit team and be prepared for long hours, working weekends/bank holidays and unsociable hours, a demanding work schedule and extensive worldwide travel.

A valid driver's license is required.  


SALARY 

Up to £25k p.a., plus pension contribution
