The day to day 'hands on' management of the Drystack, ensuring the highest level of customer service and safety of all those who use the site. To operate the lifting and handling equipment, to assist in the allocation of space within the Drystack to maximize the available space. Advise the Operations Manager of any operational information as necessary. To ensure that all given jobs are completed to the highest standard and to work as effectively and efficiently as possible, as part of a team or individually. To manage the Drystack staff. To maintain accurate records and gather statistics on use for the efficient use of labour and to improve the service. This role involves weekend work throughout the summer period.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To control the placing and allocation of boats within the Drystack.
2. To ensure the safety and security of all vessels within the Drystack
3. To maintain cleanliness of the site at all times.
4. To operate the Drystack equipment and machinery to safely lift, launch, wash boats and other lifting tasks as required. Subject to training and certification as required.
5. To manage the Drystack staff and ensure all tasks are carried out efficiently and safely.
6. To manage booking, arrivals/departures and ensure that all records are maintained.
7. To manage the fuel station
8. To devise and implement new customer service strategies.
9. To help create and implement marketing/PR strategies and also be prepared to implement some unusual and different marketing/business ideas for the benefit of the business
10. To ensure that all repairs are carried out in a timely manner.
11. To carry out accurate weekly berth checks in the Drystack as directed.
12. To undertake monthly electricity/water reading and their readings reported to the Marina Office as required.
13. To measure each new vessel accurately.
14. To repair, paint and generally maintain the equipment to the required specified standard.
15. To assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Company's Health and Safety Policy and ensure that all contractors, tenants and visitors adhere to it.
16. To be fully conversant with all fire/emergency procedures.
17. To be fully conversant with the operation of the dock gates.
18. To make regular inspections of the Drystack area, including the toilet facilities, and report any defects and maintain supplies as required.
19. To maintain up to date records of all craft within the Drystack.
20. To be aware of the weather and flood warnings and take all necessary precautions/actions e.g. checking cradles/berths.
21. To ensure that all complaints are dealt with immediately and details passed on to the Operations Manager as appropriate.
22. To advise the management of any areas within your scope of responsibility that are giving you cause for concern.
23. To comply with this Company's Health and Safety policy and that of the Health and Safety Executive.
24. Any other duties required by the Management.
